Nokia 6288 - Even Better!
Put Nokia 6288 and Nokia 6280 beside each other, and observe the difference. Chances are that you will find nothing. This is because like its predecessor, the Nokia 6288 has a whole lot of thing in common. Be it the dimensions, weight and display size, camera specs, amount of internal memory or applications. So why did the manufacturer launch a new handset. The answer is because Nokia 6288 is a firmware upgrade of the 6280. That is to say that the new handset comes with a design difference of altered keypad spacing, glossy finish and a larger miniSD card bundled into the pack.
Like 6280, the Nokia 6288 is a squarish slider. The top as well as the front fascia of the mobile has a 320 x 240 pixel screen, with large navigation key beneath it. Pushing the slider reveals a grid like keypad, that has silver highlights. At the top left-hand corner, remains the VGA camera. It is almost invisible and very sedate and refined. The reverse side of the 6288 has a glossy black finish, and is occupied by a 2 MP camera. It comes close with flash and teeny fisheye mirror for self portrait. One can also hold the device horizontally to capture snaps, it sure extends a feel of a digital camera.
Feature wise the Nokia 6288 is certainly in tune with the corporate life. The device offers 3G data transfer speeds, Tri-band compatibility, and support for IMAP, POP3 and SMTP e-mail. In addition to it, the handset also allows video calling and video sharing. And for video ringtones, Nokia 6288 has the requisites. Nokia 6288 does have some complaints too. The slider is not that reliable and has the tendency to open up by itself. Also, there are some problems of rebooting and signal loss. Nonetheless, the handset offers a good compromise between the business and entertainment.
